Meet Our Growers!
As we grow, they grow!
Every spring we contract with these Certified Organic Growers to produce the lovely crops we distill.
Our preordering system allows us the flexibility to change crops as demand changes. It also gives our growers the security of growing something guaranteed to be sold, similar to a CSA farm.
We work closely together to orchestrate the growing and harvesting of each of the over 50 organic crops that we distill.
Beck Grove-La Vigne Enterprises:
Robert and Helen Beck have been growing organically since 1987. We rely on their wonderful Bay Laurel and Citrus-including Lime and now mandarin- crops that won’t grow up here in the far North. The original grove was established in 1968 as an avocado farm. In 1982 other fruit trees were introduced to diversify the output.
Our friends on the coast are exceptional growers. They have a beautiful organic farm that sits along the Snoqualmie River. HerbCo grows many of the tender perennials and herbs that don’t do well in eastern Washington’s frigid winters and hot summers.
Joan and Dick Roberson started growing for us in 2007. They have a beautiful 80 acre organic farm overlooking Lake Roosevelt. They raise organic lamb, garlic and grow beautiful calendula and peppermint for us. Their goal is to always increase soil fertility through the applications of animal manures alternating with 5 year crop rotations of legume, grass cover crops and alfalfa hay.
Running Springs Ranch:
Russell & Tracy Stringfellow have a 900 acre certified organic farm to south of us. They raise organic beef and many vegetables, tomatoes and grow any herb we ask of them. They have a greenhouse where they get a head start on the summer. We count on them for lemon balm, peppermint, catnip, and many more. They also wildcraft on their vast farm to bring us Elder flowers, rosehips and yarrow.
Bear Creek Nursery:
Bear Creek Nursery is the business name for our herb farm here in Northport, WA. We are passionate about growing! With the help of family and friends we grow Artemisias, Bee Balm, Clary Sage, Cucumber, French tarragon, Lavender, Lemon Balm, Lemon Thyme, Lemon Verbena, Peppermint, Rose Geranium, Sage, Spearmint, Tulsi, White Sage, Yarrow…and the list gets longer every year! Many of our seeds and cutting are planted by us and cared for in our greenhouse until the weather becomes warm enough for them to be moved outdoors.
Our dear friends Steve and Judy Greenough named the business after their grandson, who at a young age is already an amazing farmer and business hopeful. Steve, Judy, their daughter Kristi, and Nathan all work on the family farm. They are committed and passionate people that believe deeply in organic growing, loving others, and stewarding the earth. We have the privilege of having them grow Geranium, cucumbers, and more for us.
