Meet our Growers!
- Every Spring we contract with these Certified Organic Growers to produce the lovely crops we distill.
- Our preordering system allows us the flexibility to change crops as demand changes. It also give our growers the security of growing something guaranteed sold, similar to a CSA farm.
- We work closely together to orchestrate the growing and harvesting of each of the over 50 organic crops that we distill.
Robert and Helen Beck have been growing organically since 1987. We rely on their wonderful Bay Laurel and Citrus-including Lime and now mandarin- crops that won't grow up here in the far North. The original grove was established in 1968 as an avocado farm. In 1982 other fruit trees were introduced to diversify the output.
Beck Grove is committed to bringing consumers the highest quality produce. Absolutely no pesticides are used. Pests are controlled with bio-degradable soap sprays, copper tree bands, mylar streamers, scare devices, rodent traps, sticky insect traps, and the use of beneficial insects such as Lady Bugs, Lace Wings, Praying Mantis, Decollete Snails and Cryptolaemus Montrouzieri.
Beck Grove is located in the northern most part of San Diego County near Fallbrook. Fallbrook, founded in the late 1800’s, known as the Avocado Capital of the World, now produces many crops. Ecologically aware and active, the community protects its natural land preserves, groundwater tables, streams, and some of the most beautiful Live Oak Trees in California.
Dan and Mary Butcher joined us in 2008 and are our neighbors across the hill. They both grow and wildcraft for us on their certifed organic farm. Cosmic Energy Organics is just beginning its journey into the organic
marketplace. With 60 acres of organic possibilities, they hope to expand the variety of herbs they are growing, as well as adding vegetables and berries to the mix.
Our friends on the coast are exceptional growers. Their beautiful organic farm along the Snoqualmie river is a joy to visit. HerbCo grows many of the tender perennials and herbs that don't do well in eastern washington's frigid winters and hot summers. They are great to work with.
Joan and Dick Roberson started growing for us in 2007. They have a beautiful 80 acres organic farm overlooking Lake Roosevelt. They raise organic lamb, garlic and grow beautiful calendula and peppermint for us. Their goal is to always increase soil fertility through the applications of animal manures alternating with 5 year crop rotations of legume and grass cover crops and alfalfa hay.
Russell & Tracy Stringfellow have a 900 acre certified organic farm a just few miles from us. They raise organic beef and many vegetables, tomatoes and grow any herb we ask of them. They have now added a greenhouse where they get a head start on the summer. We count on them for rose geranium, lemon balm, peppermint and many more. They also wildcraft on their vast farm to bring us Elder flowers, rosehips and yarrow.
Jud and Ann Carleton are our growers from the North, Northport, WA that is. They do a fine job of growing Lemon Verbena, Rose Geranium and Lemon Balm. They also grow organic garlic. It is a family affair.
Diane Magden and her family joined us in 2007 also. Their certified organic farm in located in the Snake River Canyon of Eastern WA. Diane has a CSA farm and also grows mints and Lemon Verbena for us.
